General Motors has completed the integration of ChargePoint into Energy Pass, its unified public charging platform available through the myChevrolet, myGMC and myCadillac apps. The addition gives GM EV drivers access to both DC fast charging and Level 2 stations across ChargePoint’s network, with many locations also supporting Plug & Charge capability.

With ChargePoint included, Energy Pass is anticipated to cover approximately 70% of all DC fast chargers in the United States as planned network integrations come online. The ChargePoint addition alone provides access to approximately 60% of US public Level 2 chargers, building the case for Energy Pass as a primary charging tool for GM EV owners.

GM and ChargePoint have also collaborated for over a year on physical charging infrastructure, adding hundreds of fast-charging locations in areas with limited provision, including sites in Michigan, California, Florida and upstate New York. Many feature ChargePoint’s Omniport technology, supporting both North American Charging Standard (NACS) and Combined Charging System (CCS1) connectors at the same stall.

The Energy Pass model reflects GM’s broader argument that convenient public charging access is central to EV ownership experience. Rather than requiring drivers to manage multiple apps and accounts, the platform consolidates access to major charging networks, a model increasingly adopted by automakers to ease the practical friction that persists as a barrier to EV adoption.
