China is a key swing factor in BMW’s future production

BMW Group sold 2.46 million vehicles in 2025, but profit pressure mounted sharply: automotive EBIT fell 21% to €6.3bn, impacted by China price wars, US tariffs and currency headwinds. A weak Q1 2026 has prompted BMW to slash its full-year automotive EBIT margin guidance to just 1-3%.

Automotive World expects the company’s production to hold steady at 2.42-2.61 million units through to 2030, with Germany remaining its backbone. China poses a key swing factor: upside if Neue Klasse models are well received, but downside if the current consumer drift accelerates.
