Daihatsu brings 16 vehicles to GIIAS 2026 in Jakarta

Daihatsu will exhibit 16 vehicles at GIIAS 2026 in Jakarta, running from 29 July to 9 August, through its Indonesian subsidiary PT Astra Daihatsu Motor. The stand mixes hybrids, a battery electric model and concept cars with updated versions of the small vehicles that carry its volume in the market.

The powertrain spread is the point. An e-Smart Hybrid system in the K-Vision concept, the e-Atrai electric van launched in Japan in February 2026 and a hybrid Rocky compact SUV all appear alongside vehicles built to the Low Cost Green Car standard.

That breadth reflects what Indonesia will actually buy. Chinese brands have entered with battery electric models and aggressive pricing, while the local eco-car rules continue to reward affordable, frugal combustion and hybrid models rather than pure electrification.

The volume news sits behind the concepts. A partially updated Sigra, a seven-seat A-segment MPV, and a special-edition Terios compact SUV are both scheduled for Indonesian release, and they will matter more to Daihatsu’s numbers than the show cars.

Daihatsu is also showing the K-Open running prototype and the Midget X concept, the latter a nod to the three-wheeler exported to Indonesia in the 1960s and known locally as the Bemo. The company frames the range as a multi-pathway approach to lowering carbon.
