Digi International has launched the TX65, a family of rugged 5G routers designed to consolidate connectivity infrastructure on public transport, commercial fleets and industrial vehicles. The platform combines 5G cellular, satellite navigation and Wi-Fi 7 in a single ruggedised unit, replacing the separate devices that typically increase installation complexity, maintenance costs and failure points.

The TX65 is built on the Qualcomm SDX72 platform with dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) technology, keeping both SIMs active simultaneously and eliminating the failover delays associated with cold standby switching. Three models are offered, from a single 5G modem with tri-band Wi-Fi 7 to a dual-modem variant with multi-carrier redundancy. The family spans deployment scales from small service vehicles to passenger buses and light rail systems.

Transit agencies, public safety organisations and enterprise fleets are the primary targets, facing the challenge of managing ageing 4G infrastructure against rising bandwidth demands across mobile environments. Customer samples are available now, with general availability through Digi’s global channels expected in July 2026.
