Does Honda have a US$9.4bn challenge for its suppliers?
Honda's Q1 2026/27 results demonstrated it could be resilient despite the huge financial hit that axing its electric vehicle (EV) programme inflicted. Now the company must tighten its belt and is apparently instructing suppliers to do the same, with a Reuters review of internal documents suggesting Honda wants to score JP¥1.5tr (US$9.4bn) worth of savings over the next four years.
