Focal equips DS N°7 with 690W immersive audio system
French acoustics firm Focal has equipped the DS N°7 premium SUV with its Electra 3D by Focal audio system, following the debut of the same platform in the DS N°8 in 2025. The system comprises 14 speaker drivers powered by a 690W Class D amplifier, with audio sources temporally aligned at ear level through digital signal processing.
The speaker layout includes four aluminium/magnesium tweeters, two TAM 3D tweeters mounted at the front of the roof, four Polyglass woofers, two surround speakers in the parcel shelf, a centre channel and a Power Flower subwoofer. The roof-mounted and surround positions are designed to extend sound spatialisation across width, depth and height.
The DS N°7’s acoustic treatment, including laminated windows and sound-absorbing materials, is built into the vehicle’s physical structure. The system integrates with the DS Iris System 2.0, a 16-inch infotainment interface. Users can select from three 3D sound intensities and adjust the surround and subwoofer outputs independently.
