Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group presented a full-model lineup at the International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo in Hong Kong on 18 June 2026, centred on a combined methanol-electric and battery-electric technology strategy. The firm also announced a strategic partnership with ride-hailing operator CaoCao to deploy 100,000 units of the Farizon Robovan by 2030.

The showcase included the debut of a Hong Kong-tailored electric double-decker bus designed for local transit and sightseeing, and the Farizon U12M methanol bus, which has obtained an emission exemption from Hong Kong’s Environmental Protection Department and is due to enter commercial operation in August. The Farizon SV has already entered service with Hong Kong’s Big Bee taxi fleet.

Geely Farizon’s range also covered methanol range-extended vehicles (REVs) in van, truck and light commercial formats, alongside the Robovan autonomous logistics platform and marine methanol engines. The group operates sales and service networks across 64 countries and regions, and ranked first in China’s new energy commercial vehicle export sector in the first quarter of 2026.

Hong Kong has set a 2050 carbon neutrality target, but constraints including high population density, limited land and scarce energy resources complicate the rollout of charging infrastructure. Geely Farizon positions its methanol-electric approach as an alternative suited to these conditions, offering a pathway that does not depend on large-scale grid expansion.
