Hyundai Motor Group launches global V2X brand AllDayEnergy

Hyundai Motor Group has launched AllDayEnergy, a new global brand unifying its vehicle-to-everything (V2X) energy services under a single identity. The brand will begin rolling out in the UK through the Kia App in the second half of 2026, ahead of expansion to Europe, the US and South Korea.

AllDayEnergy brings three service types under a common name. V1G smart charging manages when a vehicle charges in response to real-time electricity prices and grid conditions. Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) allows an electric vehicle (EV) battery to return energy to the grid, while vehicle-to-home (V2H) uses stored power to meet household energy needs and provide backup during outages.

The group has deployed V2X services across several markets ahead of the AllDayEnergy launch. In South Korea, it is piloting V2G technology in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province; in the Netherlands, V2G and smart charging services respond to dynamic electricity prices; and in the US, V2H services have been deployed for emergency household backup power during wildfire events.

Woong Tae Hwang, Vice President and Head of the EV Energy Strategy Group at Hyundai Motor Group, said the launch marked a step towards the group establishing itself as an energy services provider, with plans to expand AllDayEnergy globally. The unified brand across Hyundai Motor and Kia apps reflects the group’s intent to deliver a consistent V2X experience as services scale.

Why this matters:

  • A unified V2X brand signals Hyundai Motor Group is repositioning as an energy services company, not just a vehicle manufacturer.Bringing V1G, V2G, and V2H under a single global identity is an infrastructure play—the vehicle becomes the entry point to a recurring energy services relationship that generates revenue and data independently of the car sale itself.
  • UK first via Kia is a deliberate sequencing choice. The UK has among Europe’s most developed V2G regulatory frameworks and dynamic tariff structures, making it a commercially realistic starting point rather than a showcase market. Also, using the Kia app rather than a standalone platform suggests the group intends to embed energy services into the existing customer relationship rather than build a parallel one.
