Knorr-Bremse is presenting zero-emission technologies at IAA Transportation 2026, with the debut of its oil-free Multi Tumble Piston (MTP) electric compressor as the show’s main highlight. The German supplier covers CO₂, noise, oil and particulate emissions with scalable solutions across braking, steering and air supply systems.

The MTP complements Knorr-Bremse’s electric compressor portfolio with a modular design for different vehicle platforms and regional markets. Electric power steering (EPS), due in 2027, claims up to 90% less energy than conventional systems and lays the technical basis for steer-by-wire.

The eSilencer reduces pneumatic braking noise from 72 dB(A) to 68 dB(A), supporting zero-emission vehicle deployment in noise-sensitive environments. The liquid-cooled iMEP resistor provides continuous braking performance independent of battery state.
