Mercedes-Benz eActros data confirms long-haul viability
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has published operational data from more than 3,000 analysed tours confirming battery-electric trucks are already viable in daily long-haul and logistics applications. The release comes as EU registrations of e-trucks over 16 metric tonnes reached around 5,000 in 2025, a 51% year-on-year increase, though market share remains at roughly 2%.
Around 80 eActros trucks are currently in daily operation across the truckmaker’s own production network, together covering more than six million electric miles. Data gathered between November 2025 and March 2026, covering more than 3,100 charging events, confirm reliable series operation across inbound logistics routes.

A long-haul example from logistics firm Seifert shows an eActros 600 covering around 600 kilometres per day between Wörth am Rhein and Bielefeld, with an average gross combination weight of 36 metric tonnes. The route generates monthly toll savings of more than €4,000 (US$4,640) and annual CO₂e savings of 90 metric tonnes, with roughly half of charging using public infrastructure.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks also announced the eActros Lowliner, a new high-volume transport variant available to order in EU30 markets from Q3 2026, with series production at Wörth am Rhein from Q2 2027. The truckmaker says that while many real-world freight applications are already serviceable with current infrastructure, significant expansion of public charging capacity remains necessary.
