Mitsubishi Motors has introduced the Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) to the Philippines through subsidiary Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), with the Outlander PHEV Philippines entry marking the current-generation model’s first appearance in the ASEAN region. The Outlander PHEV, Mitsubishi Motors’ flagship model, combines electrification and all-wheel control technologies for SUV performance across varied conditions.

Since launching in 2013 as the world’s first SUV-type PHEV, the model has been sold in more than 60 countries. The Outlander PHEV led PHEV sales in Japan in fiscal years 2024 and 2025, and achieved the top-selling PHEV position in Canada for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025.

The Philippines is identified as a key market for Mitsubishi Motors, where the SUV segment and customer interest in electrified vehicles have both grown in recent years. The Outlander PHEV launch is also designed to expand customer choice and strengthen Mitsubishi Motors’ product lineup in the country.

Mitsubishi Motors, a member of the Renault-Nissan Alliance and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, employs approximately 28,000 people globally. It has an established heritage in both all-wheel control technologies and electrified vehicle development spanning several decades.
