Musk denies WSJ report Tesla may spin off China business
Some Tesla executives have been told to prepare for a separation of the company's China business—potentially a spinoff, sale or closure—to clear a path for a possible merger with Chief Executive Elon Musk's SpaceXAI. In the hours following the Wall Street Journal report, published late on 30 July, Musk vehemently and repeatedly denied its claims: “This has never even come up in a discussion ever,” he remarked. “Absurdly fake news. People should assume news is fake until proven otherwise.”
