Renault has revealed an updated Megane E-Tech electric featuring a new 67 kW/h lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with up to 500 km (WLTP) of range and 165 kW DC fast-charging capability. The upgrade principally targets the more than two in three buyers new to electric vehicles.

The LFP battery uses a cell-to-pack (C2P) architecture, said by Renault to be a world first, and supports charging from 15% to 80% in around 24 minutes. The exterior gains a new diamond-pattern light signature and 3D rear lights, while the line-up is consolidated to two trims, Techno and Esprit Alpine, to reduce complexity for buyers new to the segment.

In a statement, Laurens van den Acker, Chief Design Officer of Renault Group, said: “We have enhanced the perceived width and on-road stance of new Renault Megane E-Tech electric to give it greater presence. Its sporty, modern styling gives it an appeal that echoes its inherent dynamic qualities.”
