Nvidia and MediaTek have expanded their strategic partnership to advance automotive AI platforms alongside cloud computing and local AI, backed by a US$3.5 billion Nvidia investment in MediaTek convertible bonds. The Nvidia MediaTek automotive collaboration develops Dimensity Auto cockpit platforms and Nvidia DRIVE AGX systems across successive vehicle generations.

Dimensity Auto integrates Nvidia RTX graphics and AI processing for intelligent vehicle cockpits and is designed to operate alongside Nvidia DRIVE AGX autonomous driving compute. The platform is being developed across successive chip generations as a scalable architecture for AI-defined vehicles.

MediaTek co-developed the Grace Blackwell Superchip used in Nvidia’s DGX Spark edge AI computer; the extended collaboration covers RTX Spark chips for consumer PCs and AI workstations. The automotive and computing strands share a common silicon base and software foundation.

In a statement, Rick Tsai, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of MediaTek, said: “NVIDIA’s investment strengthens a collaboration that spans cloud AI infrastructure, local AI computing and automotive in the era of physical AI.”

Jensen Huang, founder and Chief Executive of Nvidia, described the partnership as bringing Nvidia’s accelerated computing to new markets and enabling customers to create differentiated AI systems. Embedding Nvidia’s RTX graphics and DRIVE AGX compute within the vehicle architecture compresses cockpit intelligence and autonomous driving development into a shared platform, reducing the integration burden for automakers applying AI across multiple vehicle domains.
