Samsung SDI held a 56th anniversary ceremony at its Giheung headquarters, where President and Chief Executive Joo Sun Choi told employees the company had spent the past year building foundations for renewed growth. Choi said he expects an earnings turnaround to be achievable this year, as promised earlier in 2026.

Choi highlighted a series of wins during the past year: new energy storage system contracts, supply agreements with global premium EV makers, efforts to restore cylindrical battery competitiveness, and moves into advanced packaging semiconductor and high-definition display materials. He added that consistent execution would be essential for these achievements to translate into sustainable growth.

Choi also called on employees to embrace AI as a core driver of business change, urging the company to become an AI-native organisation to remain competitive in future markets. He described agentic AI as a development that changes how work is done and how business models are built.
