Aeris has signed a new IoT connectivity management agreement with KDDI Corporation, formalising a platform relationship that dates to 2017. The platform, originally from Ericsson and acquired by Aeris in 2023, now manages 104 million IoT devices and 42 million connected vehicles globally.

Since the Ericsson acquisition, Aeris has invested in system modernisation, performance upgrades and expanded international connectivity provider agreements. These capabilities support unified billing and global device management for enterprise customers.

The agreement reflects KDDI’s continued commitment as the Asia Pacific region leads global IoT growth, with the worldwide market projected to grow at 21.7% annually through 2033. For Aeris, KDDI’s commitment despite the 2023 ownership change underscores the strategic value of platform continuity in enterprise IoT.
