FCA US has issued a rearview camera recall covering 848,511 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles in the United States, prompted by radio software that may prevent the camera image from displaying on the vehicle’s media screen. Model-year 2026 and 2027 vehicles across all four brands will receive an over-the-air software update to resolve the fault.

The defect involves radio software that intermittently blocks the camera feed from rendering on the vehicle’s display. FCA US is advising drivers to use their rearview and side mirrors should the camera image fail to appear while awaiting the update.

The recall spans 2026-27 Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica plug-in hybrid and Voyager minivans and Dodge Charger models. The 2026 Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L and Wrangler are also included, as are the 2026 Ram 1500 and 2500 pickups and ProMaster and ProMaster EV vans.

The over-the-air remedy removes the need for a dealer visit; vehicles will display a prompt on the media screen when the update is available. That the fix requires no workshop appointment reflects the growing importance of remote software management in automotive recall practice, and the broader industry movement toward wireless software remediation as a first-line response to vehicle defects.
