Fiat has agreed to supply the Governorate of the Vatican City State with 30 fully electric vehicles, comprising Topolino and Tris models, to support employee operations as part of the Vatican’s ‘Ecological Conversion 2030’ decarbonisation programme. An initial batch of 20 vehicles was handed over at the Governorate’s headquarters, with Fiat’s Chief Executive and both Secretaries General in attendance.

The ‘Ecological Conversion 2030’ programme commits the Governorate to reducing its fleet’s carbon footprint, with a target of zero emissions by the end of the decade. The Fiat vehicles will support day-to-day internal operations carried out by Governorate employees.

Fiat’s micromobility range is finding application in institutional fleet supply alongside its personal-mobility market, with the Vatican deal extending the customer base for both Topolino and Tris beyond individual users. The combination of the two models in the fleet points to requirements spanning personal mobility and light-duty operational tasks.

Archbishop Emilio Nappa and the lawyer Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, both Secretaries General of the Governorate, attended the ceremony alongside Olivier François, Chief Executive of Fiat and Global Chief Marketing Officer of Stellantis. The handover preceded a wider event in Rome at which Fiat presented its full micromobility range and its future vehicle vision.
