Sharon Hagi, Chief Security Officer of Finite State, will deliver a keynote address at the Auto-ISAC Europe Cybersecurity Workshop in Maranello, Italy, on 24 June 2026. Her presentation, ‘AI Closes the Window: Automotive Supply Chain Security in an Accelerated Threat Environment,’ will examine how AI is reshaping the threat landscape for software-defined vehicles and their supply chains.

The session targets European OEMs, suppliers and mobility providers facing growing pressure to manage software complexity across electronic control units (ECUs) and supply chains. Finite State argues that fragmented tools and manual workflows cannot keep pace with the scale of firmware-heavy supplier ecosystems, prompting a case for AI-driven approaches to continuous vulnerability management across vehicle platforms.

In a statement, Matt Wyckhouse, Chief Executive and Founder of Finite State, said: “Modern cars are hackable in the same way any complex connected product is hackable. The most realistic risk is a chain of weaknesses across the vehicle, the mobile app, the cloud backend, or supplier-provided software.

“The industry has made real progress with secure update mechanisms, stronger engineering practices, vulnerability disclosure programmes, SBOMs, and automotive cybersecurity standards. But the hard part is proving, continuously, what is actually in the vehicle and whether it is exposed, recognising that it’s impossible to secure what isn’t understood.”
