GM beats Q2 expectations as EBIT rises 30%
Although General Motors' Q1 result was primarily lifted by a one-off tariff refund, there were still signs the company was moving in the right direction after its expensive electric vehicle (EV) asset write-downs at the end of 2025. Its second quarter performance added reassurances to that optimism, although sales and reported operating income continue to trend negative.
