Has global auto split into the US and everywhere else?
Stellantis Chief Executive Antonio Filosa told analysts on 10 September that the global automotive market has splintered: “the United States... and then we have the rest of the world”. Global sales data released the same week by UK research firm Benchmark Mineral Intelligence (BMI) gave his comments substance, with Europe's electric vehicle (EV) sales surging 36% year-over-year in August even as North America's fell 33%.
