KPIT Technologies has opened a new technology centre in Hanoi, forming memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with two Vietnamese universities and pledging more than 100 new engineering positions. The automotive software firm, which has over 25 years of mobility expertise, is positioning Vietnam as its Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific hub.

The firm’s software runs in more than 20 million vehicles across more than 2,000 production programmes, with clients in Germany, Japan, the United States, China, and India. Vietnam was selected as a base for both its growing engineering talent and its role as a gateway into a wider Southeast Asian mobility ecosystem.

The MOUs cover Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Vietnam’s leading technical university, and VinUniversity, which has ties to Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. Both agreements target the development of mobility engineering talent and student employment.
