Marti and Tensor partner to deploy AVs across Turkey
Marti Technologies and Tensor have announced a multi-year strategic partnership to purchase and deploy Tensor autonomous vehicles on Marti’s ride-hailing platform across Turkey. Marti currently operates in 20 cities representing approximately 80% of the country’s GDP, and users will be able to hail Tensor vehicles directly within the Marti app following launch.
Tensor, founded in Silicon Valley in 2016, describes its Robocar as the world’s first Level 4 autonomous vehicle designed for both private ownership and fleet operations. The vehicle is powered by a proprietary supercomputer incorporating eight NVIDIA Thor-X GPUs and features a vertically integrated sensor and compute stack with proprietary sensor cleaning technology. Tensor holds California’s second-ever driverless testing permit for passenger vehicles and revealed the Robocar in August 2025.

Marti operates ride-hailing, delivery, and shared e-moped, e-bike, and e-scooter services, supported by proprietary software and IoT infrastructure. The company says its platform has served approximately 7.8 million unique users since launch.
“Building on our recent partnership announcements in the USA, UAE, and Europe, this partnership reaffirms our global commitment to bringing the luxury of safe, efficient, and scalable autonomous mobility to the world,” said Tensor chief executive Jay Xiao. Marti founder and chief executive Oguz Alper Oktem said the company’s field operations team and established infrastructure positioned it to support “rapid, safe deployment” of the Tensor fleet in the years ahead.
Why this matters:
- Tensor’s consumer ownership model is a structural outlier in the AV industry. While every major autonomous vehicle programme is built around fleet deployment and ride-hailing economics, Tensor is pursuing private ownership as the primary use case—a fundamentally different commercial thesis that, if it gains traction, would distribute autonomous capability outside the platform ecosystems that currently control it.
- Türkiye is an underexplored AV deployment market with meaningful scale.Marti’s 7.8 million platform users across 20 cities representing 80% of the country’s GDP gives Tensor immediate distribution reach in a market that has attracted little autonomous vehicle attention—and one where BYD’s stalled US$1bn plant investment suggests geopolitical positioning around Türkiye’s relationship with both Western and Chinese industrial players is already in flux.
