Maruti Suzuki India Limited has received a 5-star safety rating across both adult and child occupant protection categories for the Brezza under India’s Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The model, slated to launch on 24 July 2026, earns the firm its fifth consecutive 5-star Bharat NCAP certification.

The Brezza joins the Dzire, Victoris, Invicto and e Vitara in Maruti Suzuki’s Bharat NCAP 5-star portfolio. All five models carry dual adult and child occupant ratings, reflecting Maruti Suzuki’s intent to raise safety standards across its Indian vehicle range.

The Brezza features 6 airbags as standard across all variants, an electronic stability programme with Hill Hold Assist, and anti-lock braking with electronic brakeforce distribution and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. Active safety features include blind spot warning with lane change alert, rear cross traffic alert, a tyre pressure monitoring system, an emergency stop signal and safe exit warning.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the rating reinforced customer confidence in the Brezza, which has been India’s highest-selling compact SUV since 2016. He said the firm had standardised 6 airbags across 16 models and 160 variants in India, enabling more than 1.6 million customers to benefit from improved occupant safety in financial year 2025–26.
