Volvo Car Canada has received Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) certification for the 2027 EX60 P10 all-wheel drive (AWD) with an estimated electric range of up to 531 kilometres on a single charge. The figure exceeds earlier company estimates and represents the longest electric range of any Volvo car sold in Canada to date.

The EX60 is the first vehicle built on Volvo Cars’ SPA3 platform, which features an 800-volt electrical system. In the P10 AWD variant, this enables drivers to add up to 265 kilometres of range in approximately 10 minutes using a compatible fast charger.

The EX60 is also the first Volvo car to feature a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. This provides adapter-free access to more than 29,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across the US and Canada.

NRCan-certified figures cover two configurations: up to 531 km with 20″ or 21″ wheels and up to 502 km with 22″ wheels. The EX60 targets the mid-size electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment, which the company describes as the largest and fastest-growing category in the electric vehicle market.

Canadian order books opened earlier this year following the model’s debut. Volvo Car Canada said the NRCan certification marks a significant milestone as the company prepares for customer deliveries.
