Seeing Machines has secured a driver monitoring system (DMS) programme with a European automaker through an existing Tier 1 supplier, with technology to be integrated into a rear-view mirror solution across future vehicle platforms from 2028. The contract is expected to generate approximately US$5 million in lifetime revenue.

Rear-view mirror integration allows the DMS to be deployed across multiple vehicle lines without platform-specific engineering changes. Seeing Machines said the architecture offers automakers an efficient and scalable path to broader adoption.

The win coincides with European Union General Safety Regulation (GSR) requirements for driver monitoring technology taking effect in Europe. Seeing Machines said camera-based in-cabin sensing demand is accelerating as the industry moves from early adoption to broader deployment.

Paul McGlone, Chief Executive of Seeing Machines, said the award reflected the strength of its technology and the confidence Tier 1 partners and automotive customers continued to place in its solutions and interior sensing capabilities. He said the rear-view mirror architecture gave manufacturers an efficient path to scaling DMS deployment across multiple vehicle platforms.
