Pirelli has developed six tailor-made tyre fitments for the first all-electric Porsche Cayenne, engineered through a virtual design process to match the vehicle’s characteristics across seasonal conditions. The range includes the fifth generation of the P Zero, a dedicated P Zero R for the Cayenne Electric Turbo, two winter options and one All Season tyre.

Elect technology combines low rolling resistance to maximise driving range and reduce charging costs with dedicated compounds for grip under instant torque and greater vehicle weight, plus improved wear resistance and lower noise levels. Pirelli said its fully virtual development approach, tested before physical prototypes were built, shortened development times versus traditional processes.

The P Zero comes in 21- and 22-inch sizes with different front and rear axle specifications, targeting a balance of efficiency, Porsche-level performance and wet-weather safety. The P Zero R, offered in 22-inch fitment, uses a high-performance compound derived from Pirelli’s motorsport work and shares its formulation with the tyre developed for the 911, adapted for the Cayenne Electric’s greater weight and wear.

Pirelli said the Cayenne Electric Turbo, which accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds, required specific compounds to translate its motors’ instant torque into traction without compromising stability. The range is completed by a Scorpion Winter 2 tyre in 20- and 22-inch sizes and a 20-inch Scorpion MS All Season tyre.
