Scania UK is presenting battery-electric, compressed natural gas and diesel trucks at the Road Transport Expo in Stoneleigh Park this week, giving fleet operators a ride-and-drive assessment of its commercial vehicle range across multiple powertrain types. An autonomous prototype from the truckmaker’s Red Bull collaboration and the launch of a new services campaign complete the display.

Two battery-electric trucks feature in the ride-and-drive: a 24 P skip loader and a 40 P tractor unit. Scania’s battery-electric range now spans multiple cab variants, electric machines, axle lengths and battery configurations, drawing on its modular vehicle architecture to extend operator choice.

Also on the stand is the R460 6×2*4 compressed natural gas truck, Scania’s first 6×2 gas model. The 13-litre Super diesel is also present, described as the truckmaker’s most fuel-efficient engine to date, with performance improvements distributed across the powertrain from engine and gearbox through to the rear axle.

One of the autonomous trucks used in Scania’s 2025 Red Bull stunt is on display: mountain biker Matt Jones leapt between two moving trailers pulled by driverless trucks with no driver inside. Positioning the vehicle at a fleet-facing show carries a different register than the original social media moment.

Scania has also launched a new services campaign at the show, Behind Every Delivery, covering its full support and maintenance portfolio. Erinion, Scania’s subsidiary charging firm, is also in attendance, demonstrating its depot charging offer to operators.
