Solera has launched a new advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) calibration estimating capability within its Qapter collision repair platform, developed in partnership with Azimuth Claims Solutions. The ADAS calibration estimating tool, called ADAS Operations, gives insurers, independent appraisers (IAs) and multi-shop operators (MSOs) a dedicated breakdown of calibration procedures and associated labour times separate from the overall repair estimate.

The integration brings Azimuth’s calibration identification engine and labour time database directly into Qapter, creating a separate line item that decouples ADAS calibration from vehicle diagnostics. The feature is designed to give repair planners greater visibility into which calibration procedures are required and how long each is expected to take.

ADAS sensors, cameras and software modules require precise calibration after collision repairs, yet the industry has lacked a consistent method for determining what is required. Azimuth Chief Executive Charles Rich described ADAS calibration as one of the most critical but least standardised aspects of modern collision repair.

Jeremy Smolen, Director of Product Management for North America Claims at Solera, said the ADAS Operations field within Qapter decouples calibration from vehicle diagnostics, providing insurers and repair operators with clearer cost and operational data. Solera’s Qapter platform is used by insurers, appraisers and collision repairers globally.
