Syensqo is investing in a new compounding line at its Panoli site in India, doubling the facility’s current aromatic polymer capacity with a planned start in the first quarter of 2028. Covering polyphenylene sulfide, polyetheretherketone, polyphthalamide, and polyarylamide, the line forms the first element of a modular compounding hub.

These polymers serve demanding automotive applications where high-temperature and chemical resistance, mechanical performance, and lightweighting are critical. The investment builds on Syensqo’s established manufacturing and research presence in India and supports India’s Make in India initiative.

India is drawing increased investment in high-performance material supply chains, driven partly by government-encouraged localisation and rapid automotive sector growth. Syensqo intends the line to serve both local manufacturers and international automakers and their component suppliers. The design allows production to flex across the polymer portfolio as market demand changes.
