Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Cross, an all-electric compact sport utility vehicle on the MEB+ platform, with German advance sales opening alongside the world premiere on 15 July 2026. Entry pricing starts at €27,995 (US$32,194) across three power outputs and two battery sizes, with a WLTP range of up to 427 kilometres.

Three output levels of 85 kW, 99 kW and 155 kW are available via the APP290 front-wheel drive motor with battery sizes of 37 kW/h and 52 kW/h net. The smaller battery reaches 10–80% charge in approximately 23 minutes at up to 90 kW; the 52 kW/h pack charges at up to 105 kW in around 24 minutes. Maximum alternating current charging capacity is 11 kW.

Life and Style trim levels with the 155 kW motor and 52 kW/h battery are immediately available to order from €36,525 (US$42,004) in Germany. The ID. Cross measures 4,153 mm long with 475 litres of boot space, a 25-litre front storage compartment, and a standard vehicle-to-load function delivering up to 3.6 kW.

Optional equipment includes adaptive dynamic chassis control suspension, a Harman Kardon audio system, and front seat massage. Connected Travel Assist brings traffic light recognition to the ID. Cross, a feature Volkswagen says has not previously been available at this price point.
