VW union agrees more job cuts needed to secure “next decade”
When Volkswagen Group's management began floating the idea that 50,000 job cuts agreed in late 2024 might not be enough, workers made their displeasure clear. However, the automaker confirmed on 3 September that an additional 50,000 positions, for a total of 100,000, will be axed by 2030, and this was done in agreement between both management and the unions.
