WeRide’s WRD 3.0 intelligent driving system has claimed first place at the Tianjin round of the Second China Urban Intelligent Driving Competition, securing a sixth consecutive victory and the only such winning streak in the competition’s history. The system was deployed in a Chery Exeed Sterra ES and was co-developed with Bosch.

The Tianjin round introduced tightened evaluation criteria, incorporating parking-to-parking navigation on ADAS for the first time alongside assessments of automatic parking, gate passage, and complex urban road navigation. Any parking failure or driver intervention — including accelerator use — incurred score deductions, broadening the competition from an urban driving assessment into a test of full-journey system continuity and reliability.

WeRide attributes WRD 3.0’s performance to its end-to-end large model architecture, which handles both driving and parking scenarios within a single unified system rather than the modular two-stage approaches used by some competitors. The company says this enables more consistent decision-making and more precise trajectory generation in low-speed parking environments.

WRD 3.0 has secured mass-production design appointments for more than 30 vehicle types from Chery Automobile and GAC Group, with further OEM customers and computing platforms under expansion. WeRide described 2026 as a critical year for large-scale commercial deployment of the system.
