Honda has confirmed development of the third-generation Ridgeline midsize pickup, set to reach the market within two years and featuring a more rugged design than its predecessor. Production of the current 2026 Ridgeline will pause later this year as Honda prepares for the new model.

The new Ridgeline is being designed at Honda’s styling studio in Southern California and engineered at the Honda Auto Development Center in Ohio. Honda said the new model will feature an even more rugged design than the outgoing generation. Production will continue at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant, which currently also builds the Honda Passport, Pilot and Odyssey.

Lance Woelfer, Vice President of Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co., said the third-generation model would build on the Ridgeline’s two-decade legacy in the US truck market while advancing rugged design and capability. He said the vehicle would continue to be built by Honda’s associates at the Alabama plant. The plant uses domestic and globally-made parts in its manufacturing operations.

In 2025, approximately 60% of Honda vehicles sold in the US were made in America, with around 99% made in North America. Honda has been manufacturing automobiles in the US for over 40 years and currently operates eight major production facilities.
