Maruti Suzuki has released its Annual Integrated Report 2025-26, outlining the drivers behind its record year. The automaker posted its highest-ever annual sales of 2.42 million vehicles and record exports of 447,000 units in FY 2025-26, marking a third consecutive year above the two-million sales mark.

The report credits this momentum to a revived small car segment, a strengthened SUV portfolio, a multi-powertrain strategy, expanded capacity and robust exports. Maruti Suzuki said it expects to reach its next million-vehicle milestone earlier than anticipated.

In a statement, R. C. Bhargava, chairman of Maruti Suzuki, said recent GST reforms have boosted the automobile industry and wider economy. He added: ‘We are estimating that the car industry would grow to 6.1 to 6.3 million units by FY 2030-31, with the small car market growing faster than in the last five years.’

Hisashi Takeuchi, managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, said the company accelerated its capacity expansion plans, adding 500,000 units of manufacturing capacity during FY2026-27. He added that the company plans to introduce seven SUVs over the next five years to strengthen its SUV portfolio further.

The report also outlines Maruti Suzuki’s push toward net zero, with the board approving four biogas plants in a first phase at a cost of Rs561 crore (US$61.7m). The company said biogas could replace imported CNG with a clean, renewable, zero-import alternative, easing pressure on CNG and coal-based power.
