Autoliv and Xpeng have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement covering technology development, supply chain coordination, sustainability and global business expansion, as the Swedish safety systems firm aligns with one of China’s most active electric vehicle (EV) developers. The deal pairs Autoliv’s worldwide manufacturing presence with Xpeng’s smart mobility and autonomous driving capabilities.

The agreement is structured to deepen system-level collaboration across Xpeng’s product development and international expansion, with Autoliv’s global footprint positioned as a direct enabler of that growth. Xpeng combines EVs with artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving systems and humanoid robotics.

The partnership reflects a broader pattern of established tier-one safety suppliers seeking closer ties with Chinese OEMs as they extend into global markets, where safety compliance and supplier relationships must be established ahead of entry.
