BYD Group made eight model debuts across its BYD, Denza and Yangwang brands at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, presenting from the largest stand in the event’s history at 2,016 square metres. The headline reveal was the global launch of the Denza Z coupe, unveiled by BYD executive vice-president Stella Li alongside 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button and the Duke of Richmond.

The Denza Z produces 1,604PS and is rated at a top speed of 217mph. A Denza Flash Charging station on the stand demonstrated charging speeds of up to 1,500kW, with demonstration cars including the Denza Z Racing and Z9GT charging from 10% to 70% in five minutes. Denza also showed the BAO 5, a premium SUV with dual-mode off-road capability, with passenger rides on an on-stand proving ground.

BYD used the event to make the UK debut of the Dolphin G DM-i, a PHEV supermini combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. The company claims a thermal efficiency of 43.06% and a fuel economy figure of 208.1mpg. The BYD Shark pickup, producing 436PS with a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds and 55.9 miles of electric-only range, also appeared at the event and took to the hillclimb.

Yangwang, the group’s ultra-premium brand, showcased the U9 Xtreme, which it claims is the world’s fastest production car with a top speed of 308.3mph from a four-motor, 1,200V powertrain producing over 3,000PS. The U8L luxury SUV and U7 saloon were also displayed, with prospective customers hosted in a dedicated Yangwang VIP zone on the stand.
