Micware and MulticoreWare have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to examine possible joint work on AI for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and on running inference locally rather than in the cloud. The agreement obliges neither party to proceed, and no arrangement covering joint development or deployment has been reached.

Micware, founded in Kobe in 2003, supplies in-vehicle infotainment, navigation and telematics software, with Honda and Toyota among its customers. MulticoreWare, based in San Jose, engineers software for heterogeneous system on a chip platforms. Proof-of-concept work would target large language and vision-language-action models on power-efficient electronic control units.

The MOU runs until 8 June 2027. For Micware, it supports a stated move from Tier 1 supplier in infotainment to Tier 1 supplier in software-defined vehicles, a shift resting on extending that foundation into driving-control systems.
