BMW Group has started production of the updated 7 Series Sedan at its Dingolfing plant, marking the first time Neue Klasse technologies have been introduced into an established model in the group’s history. The refresh is described as the most comprehensive model update BMW Group has undertaken, with the same technology set planned for rollout across 40 models by end of 2027.

The BMW i7 60 xDrive uses sixth-generation round cells to deliver a WLTP range of 727 km and a 10–80% charge time of around 28 minutes. A new centralised software and electronics architecture underpins the model, with the BMW Panoramic iDrive display as the central interface and BMW Symbiotic Drive managing driver-assistance integration.

A dual-finish paint process combining matte and high-gloss surfaces on a single body is cited as a manufacturing first, developed over two and a half years. Each vehicle requires more than 4,500 minutes of production time, of which around 2,000 are manual. More than 500 exterior colour options and approximately 700 interior equipment and material combinations are available.
