Nexen Tire has secured its first original equipment (OE) tyre deal with BYD, covering two of the Chinese automaker’s export electric vehicle (EV) models, the Seal 6 and the Dolphin Surf. The deal marks the South Korean firm’s entry into the Chinese OEM supply base and extends its reach across the global EV sector.

The Seal 6, an export model distributed in Australia, will be fitted with Nexen Tire’s N’Fera Sport, an ultra-high-performance summer tyre developed for high-speed stability. The product has recorded strong results in European tyre tests, with its performance credentials reflecting Nexen Tire’s growing presence in the premium OE segment.

For the Dolphin Surf, earmarked for European markets, Nexen Tire will supply its N’Blue S, a high-efficiency summer tyre designed to reduce rolling resistance in response to the European Union’s tightening vehicle emissions rules. Nexen Tire has supplied OE tyres to overseas automakers since 2012, with the BYD deal marking its first OE contract with a Chinese OEM.
