Nissan has unveiled the Tekton, a new SUV produced at its Chennai plant in partnership with Renault, at a world premiere in India. The model will be exported to 50 markets across the Middle East and Africa as part of the automaker’s Re:Nissan recovery plan.

Built on the Alliance CMF-B platform, the Tekton draws styling cues from the Patrol and targets the competitive C-SUV segment with a 1.0-litre and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol range, the larger unit delivering 163 PS and 280 Nm. The cabin integrates Google built-in services, including Maps, Assistant and Play, alongside adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind spot warning.

The Tekton frames India as both a primary growth market and strategic export hub within the Re:Nissan framework, the clearest expression yet of a partnership-led manufacturing model built on Renault’s infrastructure. Drawing on 75 years of SUV heritage as a point of differentiation, the model is targeted at Middle East and African markets where the automaker sees scope for growth.
