Pilot, General Motors and EVgo have expanded their joint EV fast-charging network past 300 locations, adding up to 1,300 fast-charging stalls across 40 states. The network now covers about 75% of the contiguous United States, spanning more than 2.2 million square miles and connecting drivers to destinations nationwide.

Scott Hundley, director of light duty EV and infrastructure at Pilot, said reaching more than 300 locations reflects the company’s commitment to building a coast-to-coast charging network. Since launching the network in 2022, Pilot has earned a Plugshare score of 9.41 out of 10 as of July 2026, with locations offering amenities including 24-hour staffing, free Wi-Fi, on-site retail and overhead canopies.

William Hotchkiss, head of public charging at GM, said crossing 300 locations gives EV drivers more of what they need most on the road: simple, convenient and dependable charging. Chargers are positioned along major interstate corridors, supporting long-distance routes such as San Antonio to Jacksonville, Nashville to Charleston and Detroit to Tampa.

Dennis Kish, president of EVgo, said growing demand for EV road trips is being matched by more reliable public charging access. The companies said they are now more than halfway toward a goal of installing up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls across as many as 500 locations nationwide.
