Recaro Automotive and United Safety & Survivability Corporation have agreed a collaboration on commercial vehicle seating for North America and Oceania. The partnership will focus on developing, producing and distributing seating for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles across the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The companies said the partnership brings together complementary strengths, with Recaro Automotive known for premium seating design and ergonomics over more than 60 years, and United Safety recognised for advanced suspension technology across nearly five decades. The two firms will work together on technical, commercial and distribution collaboration.

Luca Pino, chief executive of Recaro Automotive, said he was proud to partner with United Safety on commercial vehicle seating in North America and Oceania, calling the company’s suspension expertise a strong fit with Recaro’s global strategy. Recaro Automotive has been part of the Proma Group, an Italian automotive components maker with annual turnover of around €1bn (US$1.15bn), since January 2025.

Joseph Mirabile, chief executive of United Safety & Survivability Corporation, described the tie-up as a defining moment for the company’s seating business. He said partnering with Recaro Automotive was a step toward jointly developing, producing and distributing commercial vehicle seating for customers.
