Simple Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has expanded its use of Siemens’ cloud-based software to support advanced product engineering as it scales its electric vehicle range. The move builds on an existing Teamcenter X deployment and adds Designcenter X, extending its digital engineering environment across design, configuration and lifecycle management.

Simple Energy initially adopted Teamcenter X to build a centralised product data backbone and improve collaboration across engineering teams. As its electric vehicle programmes matured, it extended the platform to manage enterprise bills of materials and variant configuration, including a “150 percent BOM” approach that configures specific 100 percent bills of materials for individual orders.

To address rising design and assembly complexity, Simple Energy has replaced its legacy 3D CAD software with Siemens’ Designcenter X, which integrates directly with Teamcenter X. The environment supports advanced surface design, large assembly performance and 3D electrical routing and wiring design.

Kiran Poojary, chief technology officer at Simple Energy, said the expanded systems let it manage complex variants and large assemblies with greater speed and control, without compromising agility. Matthew Thomas, vice president and managing director for India at Siemens Digital Industries Software, added that the collaboration gives Simple Energy an integrated engineering thread supporting its growth targets.
