Trump admin grills Ford over China ties, Ford rebukes claims
US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has sent Ford Chief Executive Jim Farley a letter expressing “profound concern” over the automaker's business ties to Chinese companies, singling out its ties to battery maker CATL and automakers Geely and BYD. Ford, which has a lengthy history of oscillating rhetoric and interactions with Chinese OEMs, rejected the letter, characterising itself as “a company that has done more for American manufacturing than virtually any other in the nation's history.”
