Pierburg, a Rheinmetall subsidiary, will present two new variants of its Curb Charger at Power2Drive Europe in Munich from 23 to 25 June 2026: a cast-iron model and a flush-mounted version designed for logistics sites. The additions extend the system’s reach beyond curbside charging into fleet and logistics applications requiring drive-over capability.

The cast-iron model offers a space-saving alternative to conventional charging pillars, with a material appearance similar to a manhole cover that allows it to blend into the existing streetscape. It is available alongside the standard concrete-kerb version and can also be specified with a concrete-grey finish.

The flush-mounted version is a 22-kW charging solution developed for logistics sites with high vehicle turnover, capable of being driven over without the need for bollards and suited to delivery vans and short-distance lorries. Its built-in CurbSwap feature allows the electrical module to be removed and replaced quickly, minimising downtime during maintenance.

The Curb Charger is already deployed in several German cities including Cologne, Neuss, Düsseldorf and Dortmund, with further installations under way and growing interest from municipalities and operators across Europe. The product’s defining characteristic is its use of existing road infrastructure, with electronics integrated into kerbs to avoid the space and visual impact of above-ground pillars.
