The Xpeng X9 has taken first place in both the range and charging categories at the NAF El Prix Summer 2026, the Norwegian Automobile Federation’s twice-yearly independent electric vehicle comparison test. The seven-seat SUV was the strongest performer among 24 vehicles tested.

In the range evaluation, the X9 covered 646 km, an 11.4% positive deviation from its official WLTP figure and the largest such deviation in this edition of the test. NAF noted that the X9 “clearly stood out” in the range results, with the vehicle continuing to operate for more than 11 hours from the start of the test.

On charging, the X9 went from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes and 55 seconds, the fastest time recorded across the field. The result follows a similar outcome at El Prix Winter 2026 in February, where the model topped charging performance at -10°C with a 12-minute time. Xpeng noted that Europe’s current 400kW charging infrastructure has not yet fully unlocked the X9’s maximum charging capability.

The X9 is among several Xpeng models launching in Europe during 2026, with Norway as the first market. The model is positioned at the premium end of the market, combining the range and charging results with seating for up to seven passengers.

“Customers should not have to choose between long range and fast charging,” said Alex Tang, general manager of international business at Xpeng. “The X9 delivers both, helping drivers spend more time on the road and less time waiting at a charger.”
